James Spadafora was a member of the Sophomore class who lost his life due to a sudden brief illness on December 7, 2008 when he was only four years old. To honor his memory, James’ family – Paul and Julia, and older brother Will – along with Lisa Raphael (Director), Park Street parents Scott Gibson and Dave Baratta, and countless other PSA friends designed and built a playhouse for future students to enjoy. With all of James’ friends and family in attendance, the dedication took place on September 13, 2009.

James’ Place is designed to resemble James’ favorite ice cream shop, Applegate Farms. Since the dedication, the Spadafora family joyfully welcomed their son Reid James.
